The Consumer Affairs Council with the support of the Ministry for Competitiveness and Communications, the EU Representation in Malta and APS Bank organised a well-attended seminar on responsible credit as part of the activities to mark the World Consumer Rights Day.
Carmen Delia, chairman of the council emphasised the importance of constructive dialogue between the various stakeholders. Minister Censu Galea said the government is in the final stages of drafting its proposals in relation to the implementation of the unfair commercial practices directive. Other speakers were Joanna Drake, head of the EU Representation, Achim Tiffe from the Hamburg Institute for Financial Services, Benny Borg Bonello from the Consumers' Association, Theresienne Bezzina from the Consumer and Competition Division, Denis Busuttil from Bank of Valletta and Josef Busuttil representing the MACM.
