Jesmond Mizzi Financial Services Ltd (JMFS), local representative of New Star International, has launched a new brochure about the funds available from New Star Global Investment Funds plc.
The brochure includes general information about New Star, as well as details about some of the main investment products provided locally. In particular, the document concentrates on investments denominated in euro.
"We have compiled this document in view of Malta's likely adoption of the euro, from January 1, 2008," Jesmond Mizzi, chairman of Jesmond Mizzi Financial Services, said.
The publication focuses on the New Star European Growth Fund, the New Star Pan-European Equity Fund and New Star Euro High-Yield Fund. The last is a bond fund while the previous two are equity funds.
The New Star European Growth Fund aims to provide investors with long-term capital growth through investment in the securities of European companies excluding those in UK. It has been awarded the highest possible rating, 'AAA', from Standard & Poor's and has been ranked 1st quartile over many periods since launch. This fund is managed by Richard Pease.
The New Star Pan-European Equity Fund's aim is to generate alpha (measure of risk-adjusted performance) through active stock selection, with a primary focus on delivering strong long-term returns. It provides investors with the opportunity to invest in a single diversified portfolio of Continental European and UK equities. Daniel White is the lead portfolio manager and works closely with Richard Pease and Stephen Whittaker, two of New Star's most experienced equity managers.
The New Star Euro High Yield Fund is managed by James Gledhill and Nick Hayes James and rated 'AAA' by Citywire. It was launched in October 2005 and has received strong demand by Maltese investors. This high yield fund has a neutral position of 45 per cent investment grade bonds and 55 per cent sub-investment grade bonds. Its neutral position range is +/- 10 per cent. The Fund aims to provide investors with a high level of income while maximising the potential for modest long-term capital appreciation. It is aimed at cautious investors wishing to protect capital, and benefit from a high level of income which is paid on a quarterly basis.
New Star currently holds €31.3 (Lm13.4) billion assets under management worldwide.
