Club together

Watching a film is fun. Now you can see a movie, meet new friends and take part in loads of activities in a super cinema club.

It's called the Embassy Cinemas Kids' Club. Membership is free and members are automatically entitled to a small popcorn and drink at a special price of 40 cents whenever they visit an Embassy cinema. Any member who brings two non-members to a movie and enrols them in the club will automatically get 50 cents off his or her standard cinema ticket that day.

Embassy Cinemas Kids' Club events will be held every first Saturday of the month and will also be open to non-members who want to join that day.

There will be many fun activities, including guest personalities at club events, games and competitions with attractive prizes

The launch activity is on April 7 at 9. 45a.m. The film starts at 10 a.m. Everyone is invited. There will be animators, a treasure hunt, a competition and, of course, a great movie!

For the Easter competition members can present a drawing entitled Easter At The Embassy Cinemas. Drawings, no larger than 42cm x 30cm, should have the name and telephone number of the artist on the back and be handed in during the Kids' Club event, or before April 7, at the cinema box office, on level 2 of the Embassy Shopping Complex.

The three winners will be announced at the launch activity and some of the entries will be displayed in the cinemas.

There are hundreds of clubs in Malta and Gozo so we asked Mikhail Basmadjian, operations and marketing manager, what makes this one different? He told Junior News:

"The real aim of this club, I think, is uniting kids through movies, while providing a fun atmosphere for kids to play, communicate, learn and bring out their talents. We will be actively working to tie in our activities with the heritage and cultural abundance that Valletta has to offer. What makes this club special is that it is already in the heart of one of the most beautiful and culturally rich European cities, and through educational entertainment, we aim to encourage our young members to respect, appreciate and love their capital, while instilling a sense of pride and belonging. We already have around 200 members and this figure is growing."

There are also plans for the club to develop so membership remains interesting. Members will receive a bi-monthly newsletter with regular updates about children's movies and forthcoming events. The cinemas are part of a large complex with outlets that definitely interest children, including a bookshop, stylish children's fashions and accessories, a toyshop, cards, gifts and novelties. There are plans to tie these in with Kids' Club activities. There could be many interesting events from children's fashion shows to children designing their own clothes. Attending a club event would mean a whole day out for the family.

Members will be able to get together for good causes as well. The Embassy Complex regularly organises special events.

Last year they held a Razzett tal-Hbiberija Day with pony rides, art and crafts activities, abseiling, watching movies, sensory theatre. The complex also houses Il-Bejta, the Eden Foundation Charity shop on Level +2. This year some sporting activities for charity are planned, which will definitely include club members.

Membership is open to children from four to 12 years old. Only members are entitled to take part in our competitions, so join today. Non-members may come to any Embassy Kids Club event and sign up on the day itself! They will then be immediately entitled to all the benefits.

Just fill in a simple form that can be downloaded from the website www.embassycomplex.com.mt or obtained from the cinemas' box office.
