A 16-year-old boy was yesterday charged with stealing a car's registration plates and making use of them on his grandfather's vehicle.

The teenager, whose name is not being published because he is a minor, pleaded not guilty to stealing the registration plates and making malicious use of them when he attached him to his grandfather's car in June, last year.

Magistrate Edwina Grima also heard the boy plead not guilty to driving his grandfather's car without a licence or insurance cover, the illegal possession of a knife and relapsing.

Police Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted. Lawyer Daniela Mangion represented the boy.
