I would like to tell Joe M. Anastasi well done for his letter (Insulted, March 7). I would like to publicly associate myself with Mr Anastasi and disassociate myself from our Prime Minister's recent public declaration regarding the "majority's" acceptance of spring hunting just because they voted for EU entry.
It is honestly and truly a major insult the people's intelligence.
If our Prime Minister or any other politician, for that matter, believes that just because we voted for their party, this means that we agree with every policy they have on their manifesto, then they are definitely wrong and it only shows sheer arrogance on their part.
They need to be reminded of Tony Blair's famous words when he first won the general election as the Labour's leader some years ago. His words to his elected members on his victory speech were, and I stand to be corrected: "They (referring to the electorate) are our masters. We (referring to himself and the elected Labour members) are their servants". Get it?
