Hunting fines

Why is the Federation for Hunting and Conservation (FKNK) objecting (March 3) to the new penalties for illegal hunting?

Since these penalties are meant to curb illegal hunting, FKNK are making it clear they are prepared to break the law as is the case already.

On the same date the objection was published, I heard shots in the morning while in Gozo. This is nearly one month before the infamous spring hunting season opens.

And the shots did not come from a remote place either, they were just a few metres from buildings.

No wonder the FKNK is objecting to these penalties. If these were enforced, we would have to enlarge the prison to accommodate the offenders!
