The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce will be organising three series of illustrated talks on the history of Malta by well known lecturer Vincent Zammit.

The first series will cover the period of the Knights of St John, the second the French occupation, the Maltese insurrection and the first years of British rule, and the third the British period.

The first series will consist of ten talks of two hours each at the Knights Hall of Palazzo De La Salle, in Valletta and will start on April 12.

These talks will be in Maltese. However, if enough applicants indicate that they would be willing to hear them in English too, the talks will also be held in English. The talks in Maltese will be held every Thursday at 5.30 p.m.

The talks will cover various aspects such as the Great Siege, the building of Valletta, art, the naval fleet of the Knights, eating habits, dress, and the development of towns and villages.

The fee is Lm9 for the whole series (10 talks).
