Malta International Airport's new Schengen area in the Arrivals Lounge was the venue for the fourth session of the NSTF Mini European Assembly last Thursday evening.
MIA chief executive Peter Bollech delivered the keynote address on the philosophical aspect of freedom of movement and the historical element of how cross-border access developed.
Francis Stivala of NSTF delivered the introductory address for the session, which was chaired by Dr Joanna Drake, head of the EU Commission Permanent Representation in Malta.
Eight countries were represented by students from state and private sixth forms and first year MCAST and University students: the UK, Estonia, Germany, Poland, Cyprus, Spain, Romania and Malta.
The five-man delegation representing Poland presented the resolution on: 'Freedom of Movement and Schengen: unlimited cross-border access?' A panel of judges made up of ex-alumni was also present.
