No fewer than six Premier League players were handed a one-match suspension yesterday after collecting their fourth yellow card during last weekend's matches.

Marsaxlokk had Malta midfielder Jamie Pace on the list. He will miss the league leaders' clash with Msida St Joseph on Sunday. The latter cannot bank on the attacking prowess of Ibrahim Babatunde.

The Nigerian received his fourth booking during his substitute's appearance in the 3-1 defeat to Hibernians.

Sharlon Pace, an automatic choice for Sliema Wanderers these days, will have to miss his side's game against Birkirkara on Saturday.

Hibernians must make do without striker Ndubisi Chukunyere for their meeting with Valletta on Saturday while relegation strugglers St George's must find a replacement for Brazilian forward Edoado Do Nascimento for their vital match against Marsa on Sunday.

Adrian Mifsud, the Floriana striker, was the other Premier League player to be hit by a one-match ban yesterday. The former Hibs and Sliema forward will be ruled out of the Greens' match with Pietà Hotspurs.

In Division One, Naxxar Lions' player Ismael Zammit had been suspended for three matches following his red card in last Sunday's 4-2 defeat to Mqabba.
