Obituary

GRIMA. On Monday, March 5 at St Luke's Hospital, JOSEPH of Cospicua aged 59, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Salvina, his daughter Miriam and her husband Dennis Vella, his grandchildren Amy, Andrea and Angele, his mother Concetta, his brother Mario and Joyce, his in-laws and their respective spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital, tomorrow at 2 p.m. for the Immaculate Conception, parish church in Cospicua where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave, at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.

LASPINA. On March 5, at St James Hospital, Sliema, MAY, aged 94, went to meet the Risen Lord and join her husband Angelo and her children John and Marthese. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter-in-law Marlene, her son-in-law Victor, her grandchildren Sarah and her fiancé Brian, Tonio and his wife Yolanda, Nicky and his wife Anne Marie, Michelle and her husband Aidan, her great-grandchildren Nicola, Gianluca and Andrea, relatives especially Marie Louise Bugeja and friends. - R.I.P. Funeral arrangements shall be announced later.

PAIN, née Portanier. On March 4, our beloved MARLENE of Kalkara, aged 65, after an illness so bravely and courageously borne, passed away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Michael and her children Eugene, Suzanne and Martyn, grandchildren Matthew, Darren and Samantha, her mother Maria Dolores, her brother Nicholas and his wife Vicki, her sisters, Sister Giuseppina Portanier, daughter of the Sacred Heart, Josette and her husband Gino Belfiore, Marie and her husband Alan Pandolfino, Rita, Agnes and her husband Jahangir Kaba, nephews and nieces, other relatives, besides many, many friends that passed through her life. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves her residence in Kalkara today at 2 p.m. for the Kalkara parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave, at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations would be preferred to flowers and would be gratefully appreciated, proceeds to the Malta Hospice Movement, Community Chest Fund or the Royal Marsden Hospital for Cancer Research in the UK. May she rest in deserved peace.

VELLA. On February 27, at The Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, England, VINCENT (Censu), ANTHONY, aged 90, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Vincent will be very much missed. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughters Joanna and Carol, son-in-law Tom, grandchildren Luke, Cathy, Will and Tom, great-grandson Louie, sisters Mary and Rosie, brother-in-law William, cousins Yvonne and Father Charles, nephews, nieces, their partners and other relatives and friends in Malta, United Kingdom, America and Australia. - R.I.P The funeral Mass will take place at the Holy Cross Church, Brodick, Isle of Arran, Scotland, on Thursday at 12.30 p.m., followed by burial at Lamlash Cemetery, Isle of Arran, with his beloved wife Margaret, nèe Lanzon. Lord, grant him rest.

Requiem Masses

A Mass for the repose of the soul of DAVID A. SPITERI who passed away on February 7 will be said tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. at St Julians parish church.

Today being the trigesima die of the death of Dr JOSEPH ZAMMIT LUPI, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be said at 6 p.m. at Casa Leona chapel, St Julian's. The attendance of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated.

ADHD Meeting

The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Support Group will hold a meeting at the Junior College in Msida, on Friday, at 6.30 p.m.

Those attending are asked to refrain from bringing children to the meeting, as there will not be a PSD teacher present.

Magazine In Charity Drive

The Helping Hands Foundation is yet again issuing a family magazine to help raise funds for Dar Tal-Providenza, in Siggiewi.

The magazine will contain articles on the history of the Siggiewi homes, on volunteering and on Iz-Zerniq, the residential home on the outskirts of Siggiewi.

Their marketing team will be visiting people throughout Malta and Gozo to promote this 11th issue of the family magazine.

The public is asked to ensure that the marketing persons are wearing the Helping Hands Foundation identity security tag.

Lost Puppy

A puppy's owner is appealing for its return after it ran away on the same day it found a new home.

Normally dogs return to their former home. Its previous owner, however, was not able to keep it anymore and had intended to put the puppy to sleep. The new owner got it from the Abandoned Animals Association.

The puppy went missing last Saturday in St Paul's Street, St Paul's Bay, wearing a small metal choker.

It is a sandy-beige cross-breed with a white stripe along her forehead. If found, the owner can be contacted on 9928 5600.

The puppy needs veterinary care.

Song Festival

The Youth Travel Circle (YTC) is inviting applications for the 32nd edition of the song festival L-Ghanja tal-Poplu, the finals of which will be held at Ta' Liesse, in Valletta from April 27 to 30.

The applications should be returned to the YTC in Merchants Street, Valletta, on April 2 from, 5 to 9 p.m.

There will be two categories - young and senior singers. Special prizes will be awarded for songs with the best social theme.

Epilepsy Association

The Caritas Malta Epilepsy Association will hold its next meeting at Caritas, 5 Lion Street, Floriana, on Friday at 6 p.m.

Water Cut In St Paul's Bay

The water supply will be suspended for 24 hours today, in Ghajn Tuffieha, in the area known as Tal-Fjuri and at the St Paul's Bay bypass area,

The supply will be restored tomorrow. Consumers may call on freephone 8007 2222 for more information.
