Two teenage boys were yesterday charged with stealing a car and breaking into another one last month.

The boys, aged 15 and 17 and both from Cospicua, admitted to breaking into George Abdilla's car and stealing his car stereo and speakers on February 6. They, however, pleaded not guilty to stealing Charmaine Bezzina's car because they insisted that they borrowed it. The 17-year-old alone also admitted to driving Ms Bezzina's car without a licence.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke put off the case to Monday for judgment.

Police Inspector Alexander Grech prosecuted.

Lawyer Mark Busuttil appeared for the teenagers.
