An ode to innocent victims of war

Ira Losco has just released her latest single, Arms Of The Ones, the second from her unplugged album called Unmasked, launched in December.

This single speaks about the injustices in the world, in times of war. It is an appeal to those responsible for the cause of incessant futile conflicts, a wake-up call, to make leaders realise that every action affects innocent people and children.

Ira Losco was inspired to write the song after her recent contact with War Child International, a network of independent organisations working across the world to help children affected by war.

"I believe every human being fulfils a purpose in life. I'm doing what I love best, but I feel I can also give something in return," the singer said.

"This is a cause I strongly believe in and I really want to make people aware of the atrocities victims of war face. Without realising our ignorance contributes to war. Piracy, for instance, finances terrorism and crime.

"In the last 10 years, War Child International has achieved a lot. Hundreds of thousands of children have been reached in more than 20 different war zones around the world. An infinite number of artistes have also given their support to this organisation and I am happy to be a part of this."

Arms of the Ones is also accompanied by striking visuals depicting touching images of war and its victims at every performance.

Ira Losco and her band will be performing Arms Of The Ones and some other surprises at the Vodafone Jam Unplugged Concert on March 17 at the Hilton (Malta). Chasing Pandora, Scar and Daniel Genuis from Bitterside, will also be performing unplugged.
