The Malta National Laboratory has just been awarded the international accreditation certificate ISO 17025 by the Malta Standards Authority.

The accreditation was awarded after a process of inspections carried out last August, which confirmed that the MNL's tests had attained international standards.

Both the private and the public sector make use of the laboratory, which offers testing services, ranging from food analysis to pharmaceutical and forensic services.

Speaking during the presentation, Government Investments Minister Austin Gatt said the laboratory has served to reduce expenses for several organisations and offered a platform for those seeking a career in research and innovation.
