• The Gozo Spirit Combat (Int.) Association holds the Gozo Martial Arts Festival 2007 at the Gozo Sports Complex today from 9 a.m. to noon.

The tournament is based on junior events, like Viking combat, back-to-back ground wrestling, freestyle free-hand kata and freestyle weapon kata.

• On the occasion of the feast of St Gregory the Great, a Lenten penitential pilgrimage, organised by Kercem parish, leaves the lower square on Friday at 6 p.m. A concelebrated Mass, led by Bishop Mario Grech, follows in the parish church.

• The contemporary poet Joseph Walter Psaila is presenting his latest Maltese poetry anthology, Tabilhaqqijiet Varji u Taparsijiet Veri, at the Circolo Gozitano, Victoria, on Friday at 7.30 p.m.

• Bishop Grech wishes to meet Gozitan youth for prayer, meditation and discussion on the Word of God on Saturday at 8.30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Seminary, Victoria.

• The Gozo Cana Movement is holding Lenten sermons for married couples, delivered by Fr Mario Borg, between tomorrow and Friday at 7.15 p.m. at its headquarters in Fortunato Mizzi Street, Victoria.
