Managing safely

The Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD) in partnership with the Institute of Health and Safety (IHS) is organising a 38-hour course entitled "Managing safely" as part of this year's Continuous professional development programme. It will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and March 13, 14, 21, 22, 27, 28 and 30, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., at the FHRD premises at 1, Triq il-Kampanella, San Gwann. Sessions on March 27 and 28 will take place between 4.30 and 7.30 p.m.

The course will include topics such as legal issues, risk assessment and risk control, monitoring standards, dealing with emergencies, occupational health, and personal protective equipment.

The objective of this course is to train key personnel to apply sound management principles to health and safety as part of a total management strategy. It targets supervisors, managers and anyone with responsibility for health and safety at the workplacce.

The fee for FHRD members is Lm180 and Lm200 for non-members.

Payment is to be made by cheque, payable to the Institute of Health and Safety, mailed to the IHS, Martin Court, University Street, Msida.
