Obituary

ABELA. On March 1, at St James Hospital, Sliema, Major ALBERT EDWARD ABELA, MBE, FR Hist. S., aged 74, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Mariella, née Refalo, his daughters Jocelyne and her husband Charles Hennen and Caroline and her husband Andrew Magri Overend, his adorable grandchildren Michael, Nadine, Amanda, Fiona and Lisa, his sister Margaret and her husband Albert Borg, his brother-in-law Michael A. (Gino) Refalo and his wife Anne, his nephews Fr Gordon Refalo and Ian Refalo, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St James Hospital today at 9.15 a.m. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PARNIS. On March 2, at St Luke's Hospital, JOHN (photographer), aged 70, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Anne née Barbara, his sons Patrick and his wife Michelle, Reuben and his wife Diane, his daughters Judy and her husband Martin Triganza, Moira and her husband Ray Mifsud, and Christine and her husband Marco Mintoff.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital on Monday at 8 a.m. for the Immaculate Conception parish church, Hamrun where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.15 a.m. followed by interment at the Naxxar Cemetery.

Traffic Diversion At St Paul's Bay

Access from Burmarrad Road to St Paul's Bay bypass, Triq il-Mosta and Kennedy Drive will be closed to traffic from Monday to Friday due to works at the Erba' Mwiezeb roundabout in conjunction with the St Paul's Bay bypass. It will reopen on March 10.

Access along Burmarrad Road will be unimpeded, but there will be no access from Burmarrad Road to St Paul's Bay.

Public transport and other traffic on its way to St Paul's Bay will be diverted from the Targa Gap roundabout to Id-Difiza Civili, Il-Forti, Il-Fortizza Tal-Mosta streets, T'Alla w Ommu roundabout, Salina/Iklin Road, Triq Is-Salini, Kennedy Drive, St Paul's Bay bypass and onto Xemxija.

Public transport and other traffic on its way to Mosta will, on reaching the Olympic Grove roundabout, be diverted to San Paul, Il-Mosta, Erba' Mwiezeb streets, Kennedy Drive, Triq is-Salini, Salina/Iklin Road, T'Alla w Ommu roundabout, Il-Fortizza Tal-Mosta, Il-Forti, Id-Difiza Civili streets and onto Targa Gap roundabout.

A shuttle service is running from Targa Gap to Burmarrad and vice versa.
