The General Workers' Union has issued a final warning to the Bank of Valletta management to decide on the joint recognition of unions representing workers at the bank.
The GWU contended that although unions represented could enjoy the majority of membership in various bank grades, joint recognition was the most mature way how industrial relations at the bank should be conducted.
The union's professionals, finance and services section said that according to scientific research, 75 per cent of BOV employees agreed with joint recognition.
It appealed to the bank to avoid unnecessary industrial strife and to accept the will of the workers.
