Construction work on a new hall and library for the Safi primary school is in its final stages. Education Minister Louis Galea inspected the work yesterday. The hall and the library covered an area of 500 square metres.

The hall will take 300 persons and will have modern equipment. It will be used for drama, music, meetings and other school activities.

Backstage facilities, changing rooms and a foyer are being built next to the hall, which is also to be used by the Safi community. The minister said that in the coming months two new halls would be opened at the Mqabba and Siggiewi schools.

Moreover, a new secondary school was being built in Qormi and the Verdala school in Cospicua was being rebuilt.
