Ambulance drivers call off action
The Union Haddiema Maghqudin has called off industrial action by ambulance drivers due to take place tomorrow.
The union had directed drivers to limit themselves to emergency work on Friday amid complaints about the poor quality of air in the ambulance garage. Joe Bonello, the union's health section secretary, said yesterday the authorities had agreed to install a ventilation system and engage someone to clean the garage.
A Health Division spokesman confirmed the agreement, saying two extractor fans would be installed at the earliest.
