Deluded Mosta townsfolk
Wonder of wonders, a PN candidate for Mosta local council wrote in full praise of Mosta's PN-led local council (February 20). Nicola Fenech Adami would not like to remind all generations that they have to carry all the burdens of the past 20 years or so.
Wonder of wonders, a PN candidate for Mosta local council wrote in full praise of Mosta's PN-led local council (February 20). Nicola Fenech Adami would not like to remind all generations that they have to carry all the burdens of the past 20 years or so. The correspondent prefers to brandish fine slogans that have hammered and deluded all Mosta townsfolk for all 13 years since its inception. It is unbelievable how one can still find people who would recycle the word "commitment" when facts prove precisely the opposite to that - particularly in Mosta!
I just wonder if the correspondent and the lot would ever know where the five housing estates in Mosta are! Indeed, the correspondent may not be aware that Ta' Mlit, Tad-Dib, Tal-Blata l-Gholja, Taz-Zokkrija and Santa Margerita estates were planned and built by previous Labour administrations and totally neglected by all past Mosta councils.
Oh, yes, we have seen lately some heavy vehicles and dozens of workers parading round the clock at Ta' Mlit housing estate. But again, isn't this the eve of a local election? Alas, not even so, some streets are being left out of this long-awaited project and only the correspondent's lot would explain why many residents are considered as second-class citizens!
The correspondent speaks of "success in management on a local level". It is a blessing that the ever-growing Mosta population can see further than that. They know well the mismanagement of funds for so long and the doing and undoing of works that would last more than a decade to be completed, even if in a most disorganised way - Mosta Square is a masterpiece for all to witness! But Mosta is not just a square where visitors pop in and out of! Mosta has residents and taxpayers who have long endured a continuous mismanagement of funds and carelessness!
These same people will soon tell the correspondent and friends that their time is up! It is a national belief and Mosta's in particular: Commitment my foot! Go tell it to the marines! Intelligent voters are fast rallying support to Labour's team.
