The Ramblers Association of Malta on Friday held a protest outside the Munxar council office to express its disapproval over the recent construction of an illegal concrete road on the cliffs at Ta' Sanap.
Ramblers combined this activity with the first of their weekend walks in Gozo which took participants on the seaboard route from Xlendi to the cliffs in the Ta' Sanap area, where they could see first hand the damage inflicted on the protected cliffs.
RAM is calling publicly on MEPA "not to sanction this illegality as this can only be interpreted as aiding and abetting such illegal and irresponsible actions by people elected to do the exact opposite".
The association reminded the Environment Minister of his earlier promise to finally put a stop to the practice of sanctioning illegal developments on any kind in the countryside.
