Artist's death

De La Salle College sixth form students will have no school tomorrow as the college mourns its art teacher, Olaug Vethal.

Ms Vethal, a Norwegian artist who turned 61 on January 10, had taken up residence in Malta in 1988. She had also spent some 16 years in Germany prior to that. She was a well-known artist, particularly for her speed of work, which is of a semi-abstract, colourful nature.

Olaug was capable of mounting an exhibition in just one month. Her last exhibition was held at Artitude Gallery in Sliema.

The presence of current and past students of the college at the funeral of a beloved teacher, tomorrow at St Gregory's church, Sliema, will be greatly appreciated.
