• A fund-raising bazaar at Lourdes Home, Ghajnsielem, will be open from today to Saturday from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Plants, toys, clothes, shoes, books, sweets, fabric and yarn, and home appliances and equipment will be on sale.

• The Gozo Spirit Combat (International) Association is holding the Gozo Martial Arts Festival 2007 at the Gozo Sports Complex today from 9 a.m. till noon. The tournament is based on junior events like Viking combat, back-to-back ground wrestling, free-style free-hand kata and free-style weapon kata. • The Round Cominotto Laser Races, organised by the Imperial Gozo Yacht Club and sponsored by Ghajn-sielem council, start today at 1 p.m.

• As part of its Quattro Stagioni series, Fundazzjoni Arti Fontana, in conjunction with Ghaqda Dilettanti Gimgha l-Kbira, is presenting Via Lucis 2007, a multi-media account of the mystery of suffering from a Christian perspective, at St Francis church, Victoria, today at 6.30 p.m. Admission is free.

• A coffee morning in aid of Fr Adeodato Schembri, a Gozitan Augustinian missionary in Brazil, is being held at the Augustinian Convent, St Augustine Square, Victoria, on Wednesday at 9. Tickets at Lm1.25 are available from the convent.

• Bishop Mario Grech is leading a concelebrated Mass at Kercem parish church today at 10.15 a.m. to mark the 50th anniversary of the Carmelites' presence in Gozo, and the inauguration of St Theresa School in Kercem. All families whose children attend the school, residents of Kercem, and friends of the Carmelite nuns, particularly those who received their primary education from them, are invited to attend the Mass. Activities to commemorate the golden jubilee will take place in the following months.

• Fr Joseph Bajada is leading Lenten exercises for Gozitan young people in Malta at the church of the Franciscan nuns, Triq tal-Hriereb, Msida, from March 20 to 22 at 7.15 p.m.

• There will be catechism classes for young people at the Sacred Heart Seminary, Victoria, every Saturday throughout Lent, at 8.30 p.m.
