Five seminarians will ask the Church to accept them officially as candidates for ordination to the diaconate and the presbyterate during a liturgical function to be held at the Tarxien parish church tomorrow at 6 p.m.

They are Nicholas Doublet from Birkirkara, Keith Scicluna from Zabbar, Luke Seguna from Tarxien and Andrea Zaffarese and Ronnie Zammit from Attard.

Archbiship Mgr Paul Cremona will preside over the celebration of the Eurcharist.

The Curia explained that during the ceremony, the Archbishop will, on behalf of the Church, accept their request to be officially accepted as candidates for Holy Orders.

Candidacy is an important step in the preparation of these men to the priesthood, the Curia said.
