Obituary
STABILE. On February 22, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, EDWARD, aged 83, passed away peacefully comforted by rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughters Olympia and her husband George, Jane and her husband Albert, his son France and his wife Grace, his grandchildren Etienne and his wife Claudia, Eleanore and her husband Adonis, Roderick, Erica, Svetlana and Roberta and great-grandchildren Neil and Yanika.
The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Paola parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Tarxien.
Requiem Masses
A Mass for the repose of the soul of MARY TONNA, née Gatt, on the sixth anniversary of her death, will be said tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. at the Ursuline Crèche chapel, Sliema.

Prize Day
Students of the Dun Karm Bologna School of Music will perform collectively as a band at the end of the annual prize day at the hall of the Philharmonic Society G.M. Fra Antoine de Paule in Paola on March 2 at 7.30 p.m.
Directing the band will be the young composer David Sammut, who is also one of the teachers at the school and assistant musical director of the society.
During the programme a number of students will receive prizes and certificates of merit and of attendance. They will also perform individually using the instruments they are studying.
The school is in line with the statute of the society which stipulates that its objective is to encourage and spread the teaching of music among youths and children.
Apart from serving as encouragement to the students, the event is also an opportunity for the parents to follow their children's progress in their music studies.
Entrance to the event is free.
Power Cuts
The electricity supply will be suspended today in St Paul's Bay between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. in San Guzepp, Tax-Xema, San Gwann Battista, Il-Katidral, Tal-Karmnu, San Frangisk, Il-Paci, San Pawl and San Gorg streets and in parts of Il-Parocca Street.
Seminar On Ageing
The Maltese Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, together with the European Centre of Gerontology, University of Malta, in collaboration with the Parliamentary Secretariat for the Elderly and Community Care, will be holding a seminar on the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing 2002 at the Imperial Hotel, in Sliema, on March 3 between 8.45 a.m. and 12.45 p.m.
The Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing 2002 calls for changes in attitudes, policies and practices in all sectors so as to realise the potential of ageing in the 21st century, and so that older persons would be perceived as a valuable resource in the service of society.
Keynote speakers will include Joseph Troisi, Anthony Fiorini and Marvin Formosa. The seminar will also be addressed by John Rizzo Naudi and Parliamentary Secretary Helen D'Amato.
The fee is Lm3 inclusive of registration fee and coffee.

Birzebbuga Concert
The St Peter's Band Club will be presenting a vocal and instrumental programme under the direction of Vincent Bonnici at Birzebbuga's parish church tomorrow at 8 p.m.
Lucienne Cassar, Michelle Cachia Castelletti, Brian Cefai, Albert Buttigieg and the Amadeus Chamber Choir, led by Brian Cefai, will be participating.
Everyone is invited to attend and to be seated by 7.45 p.m.

Stanley Fiorini will be giving a public lecture at the Razzett Tal-Markiz, in Wied Il-Ghasel Street, Mosta on Drawwiet Maltin - Dokumenti Bikrija (Maltese Traditions - Early Documents) today at 7 p.m.
The lecture will be in Maltese.
Traffic Deviation
Traffic heading up Labour Avenue towards Naxxar Square tomorrow will be deviated towards St Lucy Street for the San Pawl Tat-Targa area or Main Street for the Iklin, Gharghur and San Gwann areas. This will be done because the area opposite Palazzo Parisio will be closed to all traffic except public transport between 7 a.m. and 7.30 p.m.
