The building of the first Crafts Incubation Centre, in Gozo, has just been completed.

This is part of a project carried out under the EU Structural Funds Programme for Malta 2004-2006, co-financed under the European Regional Development Fund.

The centre forms part of a project that includes an extension to the Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for Art and Crafts in Ghajnsielem, costing Lm372,465. The extension provides for a new administration area, exhibition space, a conference room and five specialised workshops. The art and crafts centre offers 44 courses, including 11 co-funded through the European Social Fund, to 1, 289 students.

Besides the incubation centre and the extension of the art and crafts centre, another project involves the construction and setting up of a training facility for tourism studies in Qala, co-financed by the European Regional Development fund and the government.
