Arch rivals Fina First and Aercomms registered similar 8-0 wins in week six of the Middlesea League at the Eden SuperBowl, Fina retaining their eight-point lead at the top of Division One while Aercomms are now second as other results went in their favour.
Union Capital Group picked up six against Sammy's Embroideries to stay third, and there was a similar result for PharmaVet against Redwell Heating for them to improve from ninth to eighth place. Royal Shock also clinched a six-point win against fifth-placed HSBC.
Fina First sent out a 'catch us if you can' message to their challengers with a high-rolling 100% victory over Ramis as they shot the highest team series of the week (2,499) in the process.
The Fina stars had an easy time in the first two of the three-game series, winning 732-788 and 77-888 respectively, before Ramis came close to stealing a two-point share in game three which they lost by just seven pins, 816-823.
Fina had Sue Abela's excellent 258 effort to thank for the win. She finished with an outstanding 697 series.
Aercomms played a convincing game against Redwell Heating. The opener was a close encounter, Aercomms just scraping through with a four-pin advantage (764-768), but game two saw them double their lead with slightly greater ease 781-822.
Redwell needed to win game three by 46 pins to tie the match. But Aercomms were too good for them, shooting a big 874 against Redwell's 667 to complete the whitewash.
