Bruce G. Duncan misses the point (What About The Children?, February 17) on the recent UK government's decision not to exempt the faith-based adoption agencies from the new gay rights laws.
"While views obviously differ," Prime Minister Tony Blair has said, "everyone is agreed that above all the interests of the children and particularly the most vulnerable children must come first". Not a single study to date has found the children of lesbian or gay parents to be disadvantaged because of their parents' sexual orientation.
Finding a good loving family is, therefore, the best thing that could ever happen to the disadvantaged child, regardless of the prejudice inherent in some faiths.
