Cats in need of protection

Year after year cats are being run over in Jules Verne Road, Naxxar. Some are lucky and escape with a broken leg or fractured pelvis, but the majority are not.

This is the third accident so far this year and all three have died. How many more cats have to die before sleeping policemen are placed in this road?

It is bad enough that dog owners walk their dogs without using a leash and nothing is done about it even though they are breaking the law. Others let their dogs out at night to roam the streets, leaving them free to enter other peoples' property and tear to pieces any cat that crosses their path.

Cats that are perfectly healthy are found dead, probably poisoned by some "cat lovers" in this area.

Animals have the right to live in a safe environment as much as we do.

When will the local council do something to protect us residents and our pets?
