Jonathan Lee has joined InterContinental Malta as executive chef. He came to Malta from New York, where he worked at InterContinental, The Barclay.
Mr Lee has been in the catering industry since he was 14 and spent his first few working experiences in various restaurants around the west coast of the United States. He then moved to Hawaii where he was appointed garde-manager at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua Hotel becoming the youngest sous chef in the company. Three years later, he took up the post at The Lodge in Koele on the island of Lana'I, which was voted the best hotel in Hawaii for 10 consecutive years. Before joining InterContinental, The Barclay, New York as acting executive chef to the legendary Italian Carmine Marletta, Mr Lee spent two years in Houston, Texas where he was hired as executive sous chef of the largest privately-owned catering company in the US.
