Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca, Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, Judicial Vicar Mgr Arthur Said Pullicino and Catholic Doctrine (Museum) officials will be attending the consistory called by Pope Benedict XVI, which is being held on Friday at the Vatican.

During the consistory, cardinals will give their advice on the canonisation of five blesseds, including Gorg Preca, the founder of the Museum.

Archbishop Paul Cremona has ordered all churches to ring their bells for 15 minutes at noon on Friday and light up their façades in the evening.

He gave priests permission to celebrate, on Friday, the votive Mass of Blessed Gorg Preca, usually celebrated on his liturgical feast on May 9.

A circular issued by the Curia proposed the holding of a thanksgiving adoration using prayers of Blessed Gorg Preca tomorrow or on Friday.
