The Tunisian Parliament has ratified the friendship and cooperation agreement it had signed with Malta in June 2005.

The agreement, signed by Foreign Affairs Minister Michael Frendo and his Tunisian counterpart Abdelbaki Hermassi, binds the two countries to find just and fair solutions to any issues which may crop up between them. Malta and Tunisia agreed to hold regular meetings once a year between the two prime ministers and twice a year between the two foreign ministers.

The agreement also seeks to benefit businessmen from both countries through joint ventures.
