Zejtun school in child health project

'Healthy Children in a Healthy Europe' is the title of a Comenius project that Dun Alwig Camilleri Zejtun Primary 'A' will be taking part in together with three other schools from Germany, Britain and Romania.

The school head and a kindergarten assistant recently visited a German school in Ratzeburg to observe and discuss with colleagues ways of developing the project. Pupils from the participating schools will be encouraged to discuss, organise and undertake health-related projects such as dental health, food, nutrition and physical activity. The school council, the local council, the parish, Paulo Freire Institute as well as all parents will be invited to share in the project.

Comenius programmes help schools across Europe to link up and undertake exchanges on healthy lifestyles and well-balanced diets based on fruit, vegetables and cereal as well as promoting fitness and well-being by increasing exercise, physical activity and sport.
