Dear Mr Muscat Inglott,
I would really like to thank you for the informative article regarding the misleading practices that the European City Guide is using. I have been receiving several threats by this company that unless I pay a bill for €937 I will be taken to court. Although it is true that I signed their "contract", I was totally unaware that the advert in their publication is not free. In fact, their application is designed in such a way that it gives you the impression that placing a classified advert in their publication is totally free.
I am the secretary of an NGO and I was getting really worried about whether I shall pay or ignore their warnings. On one hand I did not want my society to get involved in any trouble but on the other side; I felt that it was not fair to pay €937 for three years when their application was so misleading.
Thanks again for your article as it gave me more confidence on what action I should take. (Kevin Cauchi)
I thank Mr Cauchi for his letter. We need more people like him to encourage others not to worry about the letters or demands for payment sent by the European City Guide.
