A techno version of the Wedding March blared through Republic Street, Valletta yesterday as young children in colourful costumes danced to the tune.

Despite the mild weather, yesterday's activities did not attract so many people, but it is anticipated that droves of families will swarm to the city for this weekend's activities.

Carnivals continues today from 9.30 a.m. with children's activities, dancing, a float defilè, and general merriment along Republic Street.

Enclosure tickets cost Lm2.

The fun continues at 3.30 p.m. with the dance competitions, followed by the entrance of triumphal floats and bands at the carnival enclosure in Freedom Square.

Tickets for section A/E cost Lm2.50 and for section B/C/D Lm3.

Tomorrow's fun starts at 2 p.m. with a dance competition followed by the entrance of the gran defilè at the carnival enclosure and along the city streets.

Enclosure tickets for section A/E cost Lm3, and for section B/C/D Lm3.50.

Dance competitions continue on Monday from 6 p.m. Enclosure tickets cost Lm1.50.

On Tuesday, the last day of carnival, the gran defile will be held at Freedom Square from 4 p.m., with tickets selling for Lm1.50. The gran finale will start at 6.30 p.m. from St Anne's Street, Floriana.
