Hotel opens dental clinic

Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech opened the dental clinic Fortedent at the new Fortina Spa Resort, yesterday.

Health tourism, which also includes dental practice, is becoming a big niche market worldwide, he said, adding that Malta wants to develop a wellness tourism segment.

Many of Malta's hotels are providing the necessary infrastructure to tap this market but Dr Zammit Dimech noted, the Fortina Spa Resort, with its medical centre, is at the forefront of such activities offering a physiotherapy clinic, musculoskeletal health screening and a thalasso therapy clinic.

The centre boasts of a large range of state-of-the art equipment which is used for the intensive rehabilitation of many types of conditions.

Fortedent gives Malta an added attraction for visitors to come on holiday and also carry out their dental treatments at the same time, Dr Zammit Dimech said.
