A 34-year-old man was yesterday charged with handling stolen car stereos and relapsing.

Magistrate Silvio Meli heard Winston Joseph Gera, of St Julians, plead not guilty to the charges.

The magistrate also heard how Mr Gera had been suffering from a drug addiction problem for over a decade and was working on overcoming his habit with the help of his family.

The magistrate granted him bail against a personal guarantee of Lm500. Police Inspector Daniel Zammit prosecuted.

Lawyer Franco Debono and Charmaine Cherrett were defence counsel.
