Needed: Donations in kind

One of my neighbours has approached me to help her out in what can be considered to be a very generous and humanitarian act. She asked me to accompany her and the rest of her group of The Mission Fund to Guatemala and perform missionary work and help out in building an extension to a school there. Unfortunately I cannot accompany this group due to work commitments but I promised to help out in this worthy cause.

I have been asked to help out in the collection of the following:

• Medicines;

• All kinds of tools for the construction and related trades;

• Stationary - copybooks, pencils, rulers, crayons, chalk, school bags etc.;

• Books for library - preferably in English;

• Sewing machines both electric and also manual, even in need of repair;

• Drapes and sewing materials;

• Craft making equipment;

• Food in preserves, sweets and biscuits that expire after summer 2007;

• Bazaar items for fundraising;

• First holy communion outfits for boys and girls;

• Computers, also those which are in need of slight repairs;

• Typewriters.

The container is bound to leave Malta in April this year so it is important that all donations will be submitted by the end of March.
