Embellishment work on part of Ta' Xbiex promenade by government employees is in an advanced stage and is expected to be completed by next month, Resources and Infrastructure Minister Ninu Zammit said yesterday.

The current phase covering the promenade from the Black Pearl Restaurant to the Gzira Gardens will cost Lm150, 000.

Mr Zammit, who visited the project yesterday, said that balustrades complement the view of the Floriana and Valletta bastions across the harbour. Paving covering 2,000 square metres has been laid.

Forty-eight poles with decorative lighting are to be installed. Care has been taken to ensure the promenade provides access to persons with special needs.
