Red Cross officials to visit refugee centres

A delegation from the International Red Cross Movement will visit the Malta Red Cross Society next week in connection with the plight of refugees and immigrants in Malta.

The delegation, here from Monday to Wednesday, will visit closed and open refugee centres. They will assess the aid needs of the Red Cross in dealing with migrants.

Meetings are also scheduled with ministries responsible for migrant affairs.

The delegation is composed of Bernard Schneider, co-chairman of the Platform for European Red Cross Cooperation on Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Migrants, and Hans Beat Moser, the head of the migration department at the Swiss Red Cross.
