Malta has not been affected by the recall of Easter eggs made by Cadbury, John Attard Kingswell, manager health inspector at the Department of Public Health, said.

Last week Cadbury recalled a number of products, including the Crunchie and Dairy Milk Easter eggs, because they contained the wrong nut allergy labelling.

Although the company insisted that the products were perfectly safe for those without a nut allergy, they were recalled anyway.

Regulations about food labelling enacted in 2004 stipulate that allergens that can be present in a product must be declared, Mr Attard Kingswell said.
