Last-minute make-up

The current road works around a small part of Ta' Mlit Housing Estate in Mosta are a spectacular example of how certain elected people still believe they can fool one and all on the eve of an election!

Public funds have been spent and often squandered over the past years in Mosta without really addressing most of the basic needs in residential areas. For the outgoing Nationalist council, Ta' Mlit and other housing estates around Mosta seem to be thought of as ghettos for second class citizens. Were it not for the civic spirit of the residents themselves, such areas would have ended up as derelict spots with health and safety hazards to one and all!

One and all welcome the current works, but they all understand that it will never be the umpteenth hook on the eve of March 10 elections. As taxpayers, residents are well aware that they cannot perpetually be fooled. Necessary and long-awaited works will not serve as easy bait for anyone trying to cling to his seat of power!

As the saying goes, some can fool many all the time, some can fool some for some time, but no one can fool everyone all the time!
