New Sorento SUV launched

Kia has given its popular Sorento SUV a make-over for 2007.

The petrol and diesel engines have been given a power boost, several significant comfort and safety features have been added and its appearance, both internal and external, has been refreshed.

The 4x4 Sorento was launched in Malta last Thursday. Five versions of Sorento complete the model line-up for the European market.

"The SUV market in Europe is highly competitive and we were immensely flattered by the reception given to Sorento at its launch in 2002, and by its subsequent sales volumes," said Jean-Charles Lievens, Kia Europe senior vice-president.

Kia Motors Corporation is planning to sell 200,000 units around the world over the next two years.

Kia's 4x4 SUV has won several awards.
