Obituary
MANGION. On February 11, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, EMMANUEL, of Qormi, aged 69, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary, his children Edwin and his wife Miriam, Sandra and her husband Frankie Cardona, Simone and her husband Emanuel Falzon, Stefania and her husband Daniel Cauchi, his 10 grandchildren Ryan, Kurt, Neil, Abigail, Sandro, Mark, Matthew, Joseph, David and Emma, their fiancés, his brother Ninu and his wife Katie, his sisters Maria and her husband Johnnie, Gracie and her husband France, Lucy, Doris widow of Joseph, and Gola, residing in Australia, his in-laws and their respective spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for St George parish church, Qormi where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.
MERCIECA. On February 11, at his residence in Qormi, JOHN MARY, aged 80, passed away peacefully after a long illness comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Stella, his children Rev. Karm Mercieca, parish priest of Mellieha, George and his wife Anna, Emmanuel and his wife Anna, Margaret, Sebastian (MUSEUM member), Joseph and his wife Anna, Sr Grace of Our Lady Immaculate, and Mary and her husband Robert, his 10 grandchildren, his brothers and sister, nephews and nieces, his in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves his residence tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. for St Sebastian parish church, Qormi, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.
SALIBA. On February 8, JOSEPH, aged 83, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister, Sister Mary of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, his brother, Notary Dr Philip Saliba and his wife Marie Louise, his sisters-in-law Myriam, widow of his brother Anthony and Carmela, widow of his brother Carmelo, nephews, nieces and their families. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 3 p.m. for St Philip parish church, Zebbug, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Zebbug. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
VELLA. On February 10, JOHN M. (of Saltfish Co. Ltd), aged 79, of Ta' Xbiex, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children William and his wife Jackie and Ruth and her husband Frank Galea, his grandchildren Vanessa, Rhona, Melanie and Jonathan, his great-granddaughter Kim, Therese Borg, his sisters M'Anne, Carmen and Tessie, his in-laws Maria, Mary, Ron, Emma, Josephine, Melita, Inez, Charles, Georgina and Elizabeth, their families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for St John of the Cross parish church, Ta' Xbiex where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment in the family chapel at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

A memorial service for JAMES LEWIS BINGLEY of Woking, UK, and Msida, Malta, will take place today at 3 p.m. at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel. Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass for the repose of his soul.

MCI concert
The 6th concert of the Malta Cultural Institute Season will be held at the Casino Maltese, Republic Street, Valletta on March 5 at 7 p.m.
Taking part will be the Spectrum Brass Quintet & Ensemble directed by Alfred Farrugia, with the Sine Macula Choir and pianist Pauline Pace under the direction of Tony Pace. The soloists are Arthur Micallef, Alexandra Ellul, Roberta Fenech, Sarah Mifsud and Deborah Pace. Jonathan Sciberras will play the saxophone.Programme coordination and presentation is by Marie Therese Vassallo.
