Every year SPCA Malta and Gozo take in hundreds of animals in need; two typical cases arrived last week.
Sushi is a four-month-old kitten with a ruptured diaphragm which makes it very difficult for her to breath, and Benz is a male puppy and a victim of a hit-and-run.
Sushi must be operated on using gas anaesthesia, which is only available in Gozo. SPCA Gozo will be helping Sushi recover in case of complications.
These are just two cases representing a small fraction of the animals that need help. The SPCA needs more funds to maintain its premises and pay for the medicines and vaccines.
