Holm oak (Quercus ilex) tree-potting sessions are currently under way at the Environmental Science Department, Junior College.

Acorns collected from the Wardija oaks are being planted within the department with the aim of developing a tree nursery at the Junior College and eventually transplant saplings in designated areas around the islands.

Students and academic and non-academic staff are invited to participate.

Volunteers can call at room 162 on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. or on Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m. or e-mail: alan.deidun@um.edu.mt.
