The FOI once again proved to be instrumental for the conclusion of the period contract between its members and Enemalta Corporation. Early last year, the FOI started negotiations with Enemalta, on behalf of its members, on the revision of the trenching work contract that lapsed in 2003.

The negotiations were difficult and protracted because the original positions of the two parties on a number of issues were very far apart. However, the goodwill on both sides finally prevailed and agreement was concluded by the end of the year.

The agreement was signed at Enemalta Corporation Head Office in Marsa on Thursday by Enemalta CEO Anthony Rizzo, FOI president Adrian Bajada, and the representatives of the FOI members participating in the contract.
