It has been a very long time since I wore out my the seat of my trousers on a school bench, so could someone please confirm in which cases of two or three liquid consonants in succession, whether and which one of the liquid consonants should be dropped?

I do remember something about the vowel connection of the liquid consonant that is transmitted across two liquid consonants, but is it also transmitted over three, and in what exceptional cases is this allowed? Which circumstances might result in a liquid consonant being dropped?

I could not find anything on the matter at the Malta Academy Updates (1988-1992) at www.akkademjatalmalti.com/page.asp?p=9022&l=1.
