• Carnival activities in Nadur today will be screened live on TVM's Kulhadd fil-Pjazza on St Peter Paul Square between 7 and 11 a.m. The Carnival dance programme begins at 9.30 a.m., followed by an activity organised by Nadur council, with the participation of some of Malta's leading comedians, at 2 p.m.

The Kummissjoni Zghazagh Maltin is holding a Carnival costume party at the Mnarja band club on Thursday at 9 p.m. On Friday at 10 a.m., the children's Carnival will be held at the Victoria Sports Complex.

The Carnival défilé and show will be held on Victory Square, Xaghra, at 6 p.m.

On Saturday at 10 a.m., the défilé and spectacle with see the participation of school children from Republic Street to Independence Square, Victoria. At 5 p.m., défilè and show on St John the Baptist Square, Xewkija. At 7, the spontaneous Carnival will be held on St Joseph Square, Qala.

At 8, competitions, music and dance start on St Laurence Square, San Lawrenz. From 8 onwards, there will be a Carnival parade in December 13 Street, Nadur.

• A fund-raising bazaar is being held today and on Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lourdes Home, Ghajnsielem. Plants, toys, clothes, shoes, books, sweets, fabric and yarn, and home appliances and equipment will be on sale.

• The film Just My Luck is showing at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m.

• A meeting for Gozitan young people in Malta will be held at the University Chapel, Msida, on Tuesday at 7.15 p.m.

• The Padre Pio prayer group is holding a prayer meeting at Our Lady of Graces Sanctuary, Victoria, on Friday at 5.30 p.m., followed by Mass at 6.

• Tea tombola will be held at Munxar parish centre on Friday at 7 p.m. Children are to be dressed up for Carnival. Tickets at Lm1.50 are available from the parish centre.

• The Sopu and Kenuna towers and the shelter in St Peter and St Paul Square, Nadur, will be open to the public for free on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Lenten exercises are being held at the Sacred Heart Seminary, Victoria, on Saturday at 10.30 a.m.

• The Fondazzjoni Kumittiva is staging a performance of Carnival folk and traditional dance at the Nazzarenu area in Xaghra on Saturday at 8 p.m.

• The exhibition of abstract paintings by Maltese artists, produced between 1980 and 2005, which was on display at the Exhibition Hall at the Ministry for Gozo has been extended till February 23. Organised by Heritage Malta and the Ministry for Gozo, the exhibition is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to noon.

• The Circolo Gozitano is holding a Carnival party on Monday, February 19, at 8.30 p.m., an evening of music, dancing, and a seven-course finger buffet. Singer Spiro Sillato will be in attendance. Dress is smart/casual or costume. There will also be a costume competition. Tickets at Lm5 are available from the club's bar, at 6, Sir Adrian Dingli Street, Victoria. Booking is open till Friday.
