The prestigious Grenoble Graduate School of Business (GGSB), represented in Malta by the eFoundation for Business Education, presented 17 new graduates with an MBA (Distinction).

During the ceremony, attended by many distinguished guests, including the First Secretary at the French Embassy, Ms Claire Bodonyi, Ms Judith Bouvard, the school's dean and director, Mr Godwin C. Micallef, the foundation's chairman and Mr Damian Xuereb, the graduates' representative, delivered interesting speeches.

Ms Julie Martin, GGSB's international programme manager also attended the event. Ms Bouvard congratulated the graduates on their achievement saying that these new alumni can now look forward to a brighter future.

Maltese students are highly competitive and the unparalleled results achieved by the entire intake this year corroborates this statement, Mr Micallef added.

Grenoble Graduate School of Business is the international business school within Grenoble École de Management. Founded in 1984, this management school is one of the few business schools (one per cent of schools worldwide) to possess the three accreditations that distinguish leading international business schools, namely the EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and AMBA (Association of MBAs).

Of particular relevance during the graduation ceremony was the fact that graduates were informed by Mr Micallef about the launch of an ex alumni organisation which will, inter alia, attend to extend networking possibilities as well as organise continued professional development. Furthermore, ex alumni could be soon participating in EU projects with fellow Grenoblians.

According to Mr Micallef, the eFoundation for Business Education will liaise with other local and foreign entities enabling ex alumni to, possibly, be seconded with multi-nationals in order to gain more professional expertise overseas and consolidate their academic knowledge attained during the two-year MBA course.

Mr Micallef also said the MBA graduates had every reason to celebrate as they had just received confirmation that, according to the school's MBA programme director, the overall results attained by this particular group were the best to date claiming that he was "not aware of any other group which has done so consistently well".

On his part Mr Xuereb highlighted how apart from the academic aspect of the two-year course, each student managed to gain a great amount of essential life and professional skills from one another, thus making their MBA more valid.

The 13 students who graduated MBA in Management Consulting were Daniel Bonello, Cedric Camilleri, Daniel Cilia, David Darmanin, Nadine Darmanin, Victor Denaro, Albert Frendo, Michael Micallef, Loranne Pace, Karen Scerri, Tyron Spiteri, Alfred Triganza and Damian Xuereb.

Four other students graduated MBA in Technology Management, namely David Bonnici, Saviour Busuttil, Alexei Dingli and Tony Grixti.
